Invest in yourself

INVEST in Yourself.

I have been having a number of conversations across this week about how important it is to invest in yourself. When we think about investing in ourselves, we so often think about how investing in ourselves will for the most part affect others around us. The truth be told, when I ask a client, trainer, my family and friends, what are they doing for themselves - 9 times out of 10 receive the answer "right now is not the right time...". I am all for doing things at the right time, you need to be ready for it but if you have been pondering a decision for a period of time, it is time to action it, even in a small way.

At The Fit Collective when I speak about investing in yourself, this not only includes investing in your health but investing in your own education, in your relationships, your career, your home, your mental health. Investing in yourself allows you to make decisions that are in your long term interests.

Investing in yourself goes beyond the monetary value, it goes beyond instant gratification and beyond what is in 'trend'. Put simply, what do you need to do to get to where to want to be? I understand, not everything is black and white or as simple as 'just get it done' but you need to start somewhere and you need to start with identifying what direction you want to go in and what investments you need to make in yourself to exceed your current status.

Here at The Fit Collective, we think long term - not only in our training but in our own education, in our learning and in our application of this. We know we cannot be everything to everyone, but we will always place a high value on ongoing education, learning about what is happening in the Fitness Industry both locally and internationally and how we can further develop and raise the standards of our industry.

I remember making the commitment to open the doors, then the commitment to build our community (forever ongoing) and then the commitment to challenge myself both physically and intellectually, these commitments and challenges are not without purpose - they are all an investment in the goals of The Fit Collective and myself as a trainer, friend, client, partner, sibling and daughter. It's all connected - so when we consider why something may not be going our way, let's consider what further investment do we need to make to continue developing?

Any investment in yourself is not worthless
